What’s trending on Twitter this week in Ireland?

This week several topics are trending on Twitter in Ireland. These include:



3,410 Irish Tweets 

Father’s Day was celebrated on June 16th.  People took to Twitter to share tributes to fatherhood and father figures everywhere.


Fleetwood Mac

1,249 Irish Tweets

Fleetwood Mac performed at the RDS Arena on June 13th. This was the band’s 60th gig during its current tour, and its first Irish concert without member Lindsey Buckingham. Fans took to Twitter to share their experience.


Maura, Molly Mae & #Love Island

New Love Islander Maura caused a stir last week when she arrived in the villa. Maura wanted to get to know contestant Tommy, much to the dismay of Molly Mae who he’s coupled up with. Viewers tweeted their opinions about the episode.

The Association of Irish Musical Societies Awards was held on June 15th. The event is a chance to celebrate musical theatre in Ireland. Attendees took to Twitter to share memories from the night.

Irish trio Graeme McDowell, Rory McIlroy, and Shane Lowry were off to a strong start at the US Open at Pebble Beach last week. Fans tweeted their opinions about the tournament.

E3 2019 is an electronic entertainment expo. This event is in its 25th year and was held at Los Angeles Convention Center from June 11th to 13th. The biggest gaming companies came together to unveil new technology and show off the fun things they’ve been working on. Those in attendance shared content from the event on Twitter.


London Irish, Diageo & Paddy Jackson

More controversy for rugby club London Irish last week as key sponsor Diageo withdrew its support for the club. The club is facing continued backlash since its signing of player, Paddy Jackson. Twitter users have been sharing opposing opinions on the issue.



2,379 Irish Tweets

Fans used Twitter during the Ireland and Gibraltar match last week as the two sides faced each other in the qualifiers for Euro 2020. The final score was 2-0.
